REFLECTION ABOUT STEREOTYPES
Stereotypes are beliefs that people build about the peoples' behaviour, in other words is like a characterization of a specific group.
in the video I could see how people answered about the stereotypes that people have about them. But It wasn't a critical way to give an opinion about it, because they were speaking about personal opinions or personal experiences, so they should think about their culture in general, maybe they don't like to say things like they are so lazy or that they only think about parties, but sometimes we can see that all of those stereotypes are true in the majority of people although I don't agree to give a generalization because as we know people have different behaviours, different beliefs and different lifes' styles.
As we know when colombian people decide to live abroad at the beggining is too difficult to normalize their life's styles because of all the stereotypes that people abroad have about us, the majority are related with drugs, violence and lazy people. But I think that this is a history that we need to forget, we really need to change those negative stereotypes showing in others places what is really a colombian person.
In my personal opinion cretae stereotypes create for people like a concept of what they are, ususally people take those percepcions like a something real, or aspects that they can´t change, and for It is totally wrong. People need to build their own identity and the other people need to give the chance to know people from another countries instead of talk about foreign people only for the stereotypes that society build.

ResponderEliminarFor me, what you wrote about stereotypes is totally true because as you said stereotypes are like general beliefs that people have about a particular group which can be true only for a part of this group. Also, you know, it is really annoying when people say those streotypes but at that moment, it is very important to know how to deal with it.
Perhaps, in the reflection above, you can write about the possible ways in which we could deal with stereotypes and people who are always repeating them. I think one of the best ways to deal with stereotypes is trying to give right information about our culture to those people who are saying the stereotypes and the most important aspect is to be patient since we know many people like to talk about others a lot.
